Our Core Values form the foundation on which we perform work and conduct ourselves.

Our people are our greatest and most valuable asset.

We strive to provide the highest quality service and client experience. We are continuously improving.

We firmly believe that a Lawyer’s role is to help people identify causes of potential legal problems before they arise, not just to find the best solution once the problem has manifested.
If you can’t rely on your Lawyer to help you identify legal risks and foreseeable problems who can you rely on?

Care and attention to detail can never be overstated. It is our responsibility to consider and advise our clients of relevant implications in a worst case scenario.

Our culture is vibrant. We are willing to change or try something new if there is a better way.

We deliver when we say we will deliver, keep our clients informed and return calls promptly.

We honour the tenets of our profession and acknowledge the impact of our actions on those we come into contact with and the greater community. We respectfully uphold our ethical duties at all times.

Our Commercial Litigation, Building & Construction, Business Services and Insolvency Teams are headed by Sam Roberts, a NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist.

Sam Roberts is 1 of only 3 Accredited Specialists in Commercial Litigation in the Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Central Coast regions.

What is an Accredited Specialist?

In the legal profession, Accredited Specialists are practising Solicitors who have demonstrated proficiency in a particular area of law, which is recognised and conferred by fellow Solicitors.
Specialist Accreditation is a structured peer to peer assessment process enabling legal practitioners to be recognised for their expertise. To be accredited specialists must pass a series of meticulous assessments on both legal knowledge and its application in practice. To retain their accreditation specialists must undertake significant additional professional development in their area of expertise each year.
Specialist Accreditation helps Solicitors distinguish themselves from other practitioners. It is a nationally recognised mark of distinction run by state based Solicitor Associations. In New South Wales the Specialist Accreditation Scheme has been operated by the Law Society of NSW since 1992.

Why use an Accredited Specialist?

To gain Specialist Accreditation a Solicitor must pass rigorous assessments in communication, problem solving, client relations and, of course, the law.
To maintain accredited status, a Solicitor must annually renew a certificate to practice the law and membership of the Law Society, plus update his or her skills and knowledge at the specialist level.

If your business has a commercial dispute that deserves the attention of an expert, you need an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation.

Linsey’s youth belies her strong organisational skills, eye for detail, steadiness, sensitivity to my mental health issues and overall capacity for support and understanding of my situation.

“Nobody wants to find themselves going through a legal ‘battle’, post separation. It’s draining, painful, lengthy, ridiculously expensive and to be avoided if at all possible. However, my super capable solicitor, Linsey Wilson, at Roberts Legal, helped guide me through about nine months of negotiation and some sometimes shocking behaviour from my ex and her lawyer.

Linsey’s youth belies her strong organisational skills, eye for detail, steadiness, sensitivity to my mental health issues and overall capacity for support and understanding of my situation. She wasn’t fixated on going to court at all costs and helped guide me to a sensible solution, reached after just one day in front of the Newcastle family court registrar. That is what you pay for, in my opinion, and Roberts Legal got me through a difficult financial settlement and subsequent agreement over parenting orders with guile, intelligence and not a little kindness. Linsey helped me settle before the costs (financial and emotional) got even greater, so I’ll always be grateful for that. As will my two young daughters, with whom I can now concentrate on having happy times, 50% of the time.”

Not only were they timely, professional, no-nonsense, they were quick to nip things in the bud that could have resulted in very costly meandering by the other party!

“Having a commercial dispute is stressful and never an ideal situation. But knowing you are in safe pair of hands, can alleviate the worry.

After a false start with a different firm, I was recommended Roberts Legal’s Commercial Law team. Right from the very first phone call, I knew that I had the right team on my side. Not only were they timely, professional, no-nonsense, they were quick to nip things in the bud that could have resulted in very costly meandering by the other party!

In addition, I felt appropriately informed every step of the way. I knew I could leave Roberts Legal to do what they do best (resolve the dispute). All I needed to do was sleep soundly at night and focus on my own business.

Thanks in particular to Tasha who went beyond the call of duty to keep me informed – even when I was out of the country for work.

Roberts Legal are highly recommended!”
